Ephesians 2:11-22 Wall of Partition CLICK TITLE FOR AUDIO
Gentiles and Jews come together “in” Christ with no distinction. They are the church of God:
- Rom 1:16
- I Cor 12:13
- I Cor 10:32
- Gal 3:27-28
- Acts 15:11
As Paul said in Rom 2:27-29, it does a Jew no good to “practice” and “circumcise” if he is not saved (inwardly). Col 2:11: shows you that salvation requires Spiritual circumcision. The “wall of partition” is what separated the Gentiles from the Jews and the covenants that God promised them.
Gentiles were:
- Uncircumcised
- Rom 2:14-15
- Had conscience
- Without Christ
- Because Christ promised the seed to Abraham, Gal 3:16
- Christ is a Jew, Jn 4
- Salvation is of the Jews
- Aliens
- Deut 14:21
- Strangers from the covenants
- Abraham, Moses, David
- Having No hope
- Now hope in Christ, Tit 2:13
- Blessed hope
- Without God in the world
- Had false gods
But now in Christ Jesus the Gentiles are (v. 13):
- Made nigh (v. 13)
- were far off
- At Peace (v. 14)
- Rom 5:1
- One (v. 14)
- Eph 4 – one body
- No longer at enmity (v. 15)
- Col 2:13-14
- Reunited (v. 16)
- II Cor 5
- Granted Access by the Spirit (v. 18)
- Rom 8:14, 26
- Fellow citizens
- I Tim 3:15
- Built on the Foundation
- I Cor 3:11
- I Pet 2:7 – corner
- Part of the Holy Temple (v. 21-22)
- I Cor3:16
- Eph 4:13
